ROTIMI AGBABIAKA’S - MANIFESTO! - GREAT SuCcess! - Drama bin Laden does audio. by Jason Hannan

STREAMING ON DEMAND APRIL 22 - 25 & APRIL 29 - May 3, 2021

Written and performed by Rotimi Agbabiaka
Directed by Edris Cooper-Anifowoshe
Original Sound Design by Jason Hannan/aka Drama bin Laden

It’s a new day in America! There’s a vaccine for the virus, democracy has been saved, and now, more than ever, Black Lives Matter. After a year under lockdown, a queer, black actor decides to create a manifesto for theatre in our brave new world. But just when a revolutionary artist thinks they know all the answers, that’s when they need to start asking some new questions.

Using drag, dance, music, and “an endless parade of captivating characters and scenes” (KQED), Rotimi Agbabiaka takes on the entertainment industry and a young actor’s quest for revolutionary art in a time when diversity is on trend. Hailed as a “lightening bolt of insight and delightful bitterness” (Mission Local), Manifesto shines a comedic light on the triumphs, failings, and absurdities of our current moment.

FEATURED: ROTIMI AGBABIAKA'S TYPE/CASTE by Jason Hannan

Player emeritus, Rotimi Ababiaka, enlists Tranimation Studios' sound designer, Jason Hannan to create a soundscape for his latest solo show, Type/Caste. Running June, 10-11 at he African American Center for Arts and Culture as part of The 19th Annual Queer Arts Festival.

Based on Rotimi’s real life experience as a professional actor, Type/Caste is a fast paced and humorous journey into the peaks, pitfalls and hallucinations of a young artist's quest for success in a gentrified and commercialized industry as he attempts to create outsider art in a profession that favors insiders and in spite of the soul suck of capitalism. In this moment of #OscarsSoWhite, Type/Caste is a personal look at the politics of (mis-) representation on the American stage.

FEATURED: Mr. David for Juanita MORE! 24 Years of More... by Jason Hannan

This fashion extravaganza is the culmination of over half a lifetime of creation, collaboration, and love that could only come to fruition in San Francisco. It is with sheer joy and slight insanity that we present to you “Mr. David for Juanita More! 24 Years of More…” Runway Show from Juanita’s storehouse of over 3,000 costumes and creations.

CROSSWALK THEATER on THE RAINBOW HONOR WALK by Jason Hannan

Tranimation Studios sponsored Emma Peel's campaign for Empress of San Francisco.  Six actors volunteered their skills for a successful performance installation on The Rainbow Honor Walk in the heart of the historic Castro District.  Using the crosswalks as their stage, the DramaMorphs did scenes that lasted as long a stop light, covering a wide range of themes including sex, nature and politics.
